Forty or fifty years ago the coolest people on the planet used to head to Israel for volunteer time on a Kibbutz.
While hippy-dippy activists were flocking to Israel, the world at large was busy taking umbrage with the apartheid regime in South Africa, the Viet Nam war, usw.
Today the most socially aware young people are protesting apartheid in Israel.
They are not volunteering on the Kibbutz, they are volunteering on the ships seeking to break the Gaza blockade.
You can dismiss all this as rampant anti-semitism...
