Carney & Co prep Canadians for a whole lotta belt-tightening before the Austerity Enema hits on Nov 4

Be afraid! Be very afraid! All belts clear across the land are gonna have to be tightened, and then tightenedd some more, as the Free World faces its darkest hour since... hmm... maybe since the end of the WWII. Everything from chastity belts to drive belts to fan belts gotta get cinched up a coupla notches. You know why! The future of the democratic world depends on all the freedom-loving allies standing shoulder to shoulder to defeat Putin, just as we stood shoulder to shoulder to defeat Hitler. Ukraine shoulders the burden of ensuring the survival of the made-in-USA "rules based order," which is under attack by authoritarian countries who hate freedom and human rights. Therefore we MUST MUST MUST do our share! The former PM of Newfoundland (and Labrador), Andrew Furey, shared all this in a guest Globe & Mail op-ed today. Mr Furey is clear on one thing. We must be prepared to make sacrifices. He even uses the expression "human sacrifices." Because the ultimate contest between good and evil is playing out in Ukraine. And if we Canadians want peace and prosperity we need to stop pussyfooting around and double our military budget this year and double it again next year! Zelly says he's spending over a third of his GDP on this war. Obviously, the least we can do is spend a third of ours, instead of the niggardly 5% we've thus far comitted to. And if we really cared about freedom and democracy, we'd put boots on the ground, just like we did when we took on Hitler! Mr Carney seems every inch as committed to freedom and democracy as is Mr Zelensky. Are YOU committed? November 4 is coming up soon. What are you prepared to sacrifice to ensure that our Western values prevail? After all, health care, education, and housing don't mean diddly if Russia, China, and Iran are allowed to get away with threatening our superior way of life!
