"Many members of the global super-elite have helped me to understand their world and some have become friends." She proceeds to rhyme off 16 names, starting with George Soros and Google founder Eric Schmidt, who have become her "friends." Every name on the list is either a billionaire or billionaire-adjacent. No Ukrainian peasants wondering if their sons will return from the war are on the list. Freeland has made a big hoo-ha about this being a "volunteer" job. With friends like hers, I'm guessing she'll be well looked after. She has announced her withdrawal from Canadian politics to take this position. Good riddance!
