Haiti in the headlines

Frankly, I'm shocked we don't see headlines about Haiti more often. After all, Haiti is practically in our back yard. It's barely a four hour flight out of Montreal or Toronto. Kyiv and Tel Aviv are at least ten hours away, yet you hear ten times as much from those compared to Haiti. I figure that's mainly because Ukraine and Israel both have powerful lobbies in Canada, powerful enough to get attention, and results, in Ottawa. Haiti has nothing comparable. Sure, they've got Michaelle Jean, the first Black Governor General of Canada, but she disgraced herself in the eyes of official Ottawa, by starting a foundation to lobby for reparations for Blacks in Canada. In official Ottawa they just roll their eyes and mutter, "after everything we've done for her." But back to Haiti, which has actually warranted a few news stories lately. Back in August, there were stories on multiple semi-reputable news sites, including CBC, about Erik Prince signing a contract with whoever passes for government down there, to bring in one of his private "contractor" armies to take on the gangs. I'd be delighted to provide a link, but unfortunately my ability to do links on this platform disappeared around the time the warning showed up that I'm violating community standards, so forget links - I'm glad to be able to publish at all. In case the name doesn't ring a bell, Prince is the billionaire Trump pal who got rich by subcontracting US military jobs, because as we all know, the private sector can do everything more efficiently. And Blackwater, his mercenary outfit, was so efficient at killing Iraqis that they've had to change their name every few years just to stay ahead of the multiple lawsuits they're facing. That was in mid-August. Hardly a month later, Haiti hits the headlines again! Erik's company, currently known as "Vectus Global," looks like it's keeping up the Blackwater tradition of mowing down civilians in the interest of peace, security, human rights, and, last but certainly not least, profits! Eight children dead and another six wounded in a drone attack, according to CBC. Ironically, on the same day, the Global Affairs Canada website announced a $60 million contribution to the security of Haiti. Hmm... I wonder how much of that will find its way into Erik's pockets?

Now that Israel's genocide has decimated Gaza and West Bank, Western nations ready to recognize Palestine!

You had a roll-call of cowards virtue-signalling their imaginary human rights bona fides at the UN today. Australia, Canada, France, Portugal, and UK all declared their commitment to the long-dead-and-buried two-state solution. What an odious pile of horseshit! What a bunch of two-faced liars! Do you imagine any of these champions of their vaunted "two-state-solution" will offer up the boots on the ground to expell the 800,000 settlers squatting on the 22% of Palestine designated for the Palestinians? Of course not! What we're seeing with this phoney gambit is a collection of Israel allies, who haven't lifted a finger to stop the genocide, hoping to appease their increasingly discomfitted populations. Despicable! I hate to admit it, but the vile war criminal Netanyahu is running rings around the lot of them. He is winning. He is absolutely right; there will never be a Palestinian state. And there is absolutely nothing the self-annointed "Nations of Virtue" can or will do about it.

History will remember Netanyahu as the man who destroyed Israel

The evidence is everywhere, at least for those who have eyes to see. That does not seem to include the political elites of the "Nations of Virtue," the self-annointed arbiters of global justice and injustice. Just yesterday the Americans, yet again, vetoed another Gaza ceasefire proposal at the UNSC. Just because Israel is deliberately starving Palestinians to death and making Gaza uninhabitable by destroying all civilian infastructure, doesn't make it a "genocide." Canada, and the other cowardly hypocrites "recognizing" Palestine at this late date, are fully complicit in the campaign to erase the Palestinins. Our lame duck Foreign minister Anita Anand is concerned for the viability of the long-dead "two-state solution." For fifty years our standard response to more illegal settlements in the West Bank has been empty rhetoric about how such activity "isn't helpful" for the imaginary two-state solution, which in my estimation was murdered with Yitzhak Rabin. Anybody still dreaming of two states, with 800,000 settlers now squatting on Palestinian land, is being deliberately obtuse. Our newly-minted ambassador to the UN, the dimbulb David Lametti, has declared he needs all the evidence to come in before admitting Israel is committing genocide. That's akin to waiting for all the evidence to come in before recognizing the holocaust of European Jews in the 1940s. While we're blithely waiting for the evidence to come in, the murderers keep up their grizzly mission of eliminating the untermenschen. The messianic madness that has engulfed Israel is destroying the country. "Standing with Israel" in its current one-man-rule dispensation is standing by as what used to be a great country makes itself an international pariah. The educated elite can and will prosper elsewhere. What's left are the "hilltop youth" hooligans and their fanatical supporters. They cannot sustain a society fit for the 21st century. They are now the backbone of Netanyahu's support. The future is bleak indeed.

Bibi Netanyahu really, really, for DOUBLE REALLY & DOUBLE SURE wants you to know he had nothing, nothing, NOTHING to do with Charlie Kirk's assassination

The blood was still warm on the ground when The Greatest Leader Since Moses took to social media to declare Charlie Kirk the greatest friend Israel ever had. Oh, and even though at that point no-one had mentioned such a possibility, he wanted us to know Israel had nothing to do with it. Since then he's had multiple appearances on American news shows expressing Israel's profound and abiding love for Charlie. Today he released a fresh Youtube video that begins, hilariously, with a quote from Hitler's propaganda minister, Joseph Goebels. Then he procceeds to plough yet again the well-tilled terrain of Charlie's love affair with Israel, and offers the hint that the radical leftists, in cahoots with radical Islamists, who killed Charlie, may have been funded by Qatar! Methinks he's protesting way too much.

Carney & Co prep Canadians for a whole lotta belt-tightening before the Austerity Enema hits on Nov 4

Be afraid! Be very afraid! All belts clear across the land are gonna have to be tightened, and then tightenedd some more, as the Free World faces its darkest hour since... hmm... maybe since the end of the WWII. Everything from chastity belts to drive belts to fan belts gotta get cinched up a coupla notches. You know why! The future of the democratic world depends on all the freedom-loving allies standing shoulder to shoulder to defeat Putin, just as we stood shoulder to shoulder to defeat Hitler. Ukraine shoulders the burden of ensuring the survival of the made-in-USA "rules based order," which is under attack by authoritarian countries who hate freedom and human rights. Therefore we MUST MUST MUST do our share! The former PM of Newfoundland (and Labrador), Andrew Furey, shared all this in a guest Globe & Mail op-ed today. Mr Furey is clear on one thing. We must be prepared to make sacrifices. He even uses the expression "human sacrifices." Because the ultimate contest between good and evil is playing out in Ukraine. And if we Canadians want peace and prosperity we need to stop pussyfooting around and double our military budget this year and double it again next year! Zelly says he's spending over a third of his GDP on this war. Obviously, the least we can do is spend a third of ours, instead of the niggardly 5% we've thus far comitted to. And if we really cared about freedom and democracy, we'd put boots on the ground, just like we did when we took on Hitler! Mr Carney seems every inch as committed to freedom and democracy as is Mr Zelensky. Are YOU committed? November 4 is coming up soon. What are you prepared to sacrifice to ensure that our Western values prevail? After all, health care, education, and housing don't mean diddly if Russia, China, and Iran are allowed to get away with threatening our superior way of life!

Which way is Mrs. Kirk gonna jump?

That was quite a powerful call-to-arms Mrs Kirk delivered in her eulogy to her late husband, Charlie Kirk. She vowed retribution against those who took away her husband. But who was she talking about? The prevailing take in mainstream US media is that Charlie was dispatched by some vague conspiracy amongst extremist right-wingers, radical leftists, and/or radical Islamists. After all, no less an authority on terrorism and political assassinations than Bibi Netanyahu has opined that it was all a part of a dastardly conspiracy to undermine "Judeo-Christian values." You know; the Judeo-Christian values that permit the mass murder of the children of Gaza by Israel while their Christian enablers in DC ensure the bombs and bullets and UN vetoes keep coming. Meanwhile, an alternative narrative is being sketched out in the alternative media, and a quite convincing one. To wit; Charlie was a great friend of Israel long enough to accept many millions in donations while being a reliable spokesperson for the genocidal state, but in recent months he'd been wavering in his Israel-uber-alles weltanschauuing. Coincidentally, they're bending over backwards to rush out lauditory salutes to Charlie in Israel. Check out this quote from the Jewish Telegraph Agency today; "Israelis are paying widespread tribute to Charlie Kirk, renaming streets and painting murals in honor of the American conservative activist assassinated this week in Utah." Yup, in Israel they're painting murals and naming streets in honour of dear Charlie... obviously only an antisemite would speculate that Israel was behind his murder! We have two competing and diametrically opposed narratives. Which way is Erika Kirk gonna jump?

Why does a wealthy country like Canada poach trained medical professionals from poverty-stricken third-world countries?

That's an easy one! Because it's way cheaper than educating our own! What are ya, stoopid? I got triggered by a story at CBC celebrating a couple of TV shows, "the Pitt," and "St. Denis Medical." What makes these shows celebration-worthy, is that Filipino health-care workers are finally being represented in popular culture. That's a happy thing! But here's what disturbs me. We've completely normalized the international brain drain that sucks the brains out of poor countries and relocates them in wealthy Western countries. That's just wrong. Look at the stats on the nurses that are the focus of the above shows. Canada has a GDP per capita of over $50k per year. We have, according to the latest numbers from the World Bank, more than 10 nurses per thousand population. The Phillipines has a GDP/capita of less than $4k, less than 10% of Canada's. They have less than half the nurses per thousand population of Canada. In other words, if we have a nursing shortage, their's is obviously more than twice as accute! Yet it's considered a happy thing that, instead of investing the money required to train our own health care workers, we prefer to lure them away from countries that need them way more than we do. That's disgusting!
