With gas at ten bucks/gallon, it's important your power boat be big enough that you can have fun without leaving the marina
At ten bucks a gallon, my dream 27' Sea Ray will cost a thousand bucks to fill up.
That's causing me to reconsider my priorities.
There's a few boats docked at the marina that never seem to go anywhere. Near as I can tell, the folks associated with them mainly hang out in the sunshine, drinking beer and smoking pot. Oddly enough, judging by the laughter and gaiety they exude, they gotta be about the happiest people at the marina!
Which presents a conundrum. If you're gonna spend all summer on your boat not going anywhere, you'll want more than a 27' Sea Ray. Got my eye on a 40' Silverton. 300 gallons of fuel capacity, but who cares? You're not going anywhere!
Meanwhile, you've got three cabins and two bathrooms, and about the same square footage as a million dollar one-bed condo in Toronto.
Where would you rather spend your summer?
