Former Fox News guy gets on CBC after he defects to pinko MSNBC

In case you haven't figured it out, it's Chris Hayes I'm talking about. After all, no Fox News person would make it onto the woke airwaves of CBC without such a defection. He's plugging a book he just published, "The Siren's Call," so I guess his stop at the CBC was part of a book promo tour. Chris has been around the halls of power long enough that he knows how shit works. He's been watching Trump long enough to know how Trump works. He made an interesting observation about Trump. As Chris tells it, going back to Trump's real estate days and right up to his White House tenure, when people go into negotiations with Mafia Don, they assume they're going to get the better of the glorified condo hustler sitting across from them. It's only later they realize they've been seriously pantsed. That's an astute observation. Too bad Hayes doesn't lay the blame for the serial stupidity of everybody who could have stopped Trump where it belongs; on an education system that valorizes herd thinking over critical thinking. If the herd-think declares Trump a moron who can be easily swayed, there's general agreement. It's only later that our savants, utterly out-played, question how Trump got away with this or that...

Putin has looted trillions from Russia

When Bill Browder showed up on CBC recently, I thought Brodie Fenlon’s CBC News must be the last news network to give this charlatan any cred. I was wrong. Here he is on MSNBC; Putin's a mafia boss trying to hold on to power. Bullshittin’ Bill has a whole new take on the Ukraine war, not to mention a new book to flog. Apparently this war isn’t about NATO expansion or any of that stuff, not at all. Instead, it’s about Putin the mafia boss desperately trying to stay in power. Hmm… Well, Bill should know a thing or two about mafia bosses. “His” Hermitage Capital was the wunderkind of a couple of Israeli mafia bosses. If you drew a venn diagram of Israeli and Russian mafia bosses you’d see an extraordinary overlap. They had a decade of salad days looting post-Soviet Russia. They originally supported Putin on the mistaken assumption that he would allow the party to continue. He didn’t. Bill got most of his ill-gotten loot out of Russia in the nick of time, and reinvented himself as a human rights crusader, a discredited schtick that apparently still has traction at CBC and MSNBC. Here’s a NYT story about the much-suppressed doc about Browder, The Magninsky Act; Behind the Scenes. You can still find it online if you make the effort. My favorite scene is near the end, where the pudgy middle-age Jew leaps out of his limo and sprints a hundred yards in nine seconds flat to avoid a guy trying to serve a subpoena! Bullshittin’ Bill still bills himself Putin’s enemy #1. If that’s the case, Putin doesn’t have much to worry about.

Could Biden be worse than Trump?

The American cable news networks have rallied round the banner of American Exceptionalism. MSNBC still fobs most of the blame for the Afghanistan surrender onto Trump, although they're not as keen on Sleepy Joe as they were a week ago.

CNN seems undecided. Their man Joe ain't quite the man they thought he was. They're about 50/50 in assigning blame.

Fox, the semi-official mouthpiece of all things Republican, now has all the proof they need that Biden's been a dementia-riddled husk all along.

But all of them agree that this gigantic sloppy turd the Talibs just left on their exceptionalist carpet has ruined the reputation of the Exceptional Nation everywhere and for all time.

Bye-bye Bibi

I've been waiting to write those words for quite some time, so this should be a happy day. While I'll miss mocking The Greatest Leader Since Moses, there are storm clouds on the horizon.

First of all, I don't see Bennett and the Arab list co-existing in the same coalition more than a few weeks, or at least till Netanyahu is safely out of the picture. Then there'll be another election.

What I said a few years ago, that in the current climate Bibi is a moderate, is going to be proven true.  The next new government after the new government forming today will shed the Arabs and the "centrists," bind with the post-Bibi Likud, and take Israel even further right, if such a thing can be imagined.

Secondly, we're in the midst of a sea-change in US public opinion. Last week I saw a headline on MSNBC that read, "Israel needs to address the Palestinians in a new way. We need to address Israel in a new way."

That's MSNBC, folks.

There are words going into the Congressional Record these days that could not even have been imagined before the Biden government came in. Those in denial will say that's just because he's pandering to the radical wing of the party.

He is! But that's what should be cause for second thoughts among the Israeli political class. Traditionally, the party pandered to its Jewish wing.

A further tilt to the extreme right, just as American support is wavering, is a disaster waiting to happen.
