We'll "stand with Ukraine" till we don't
Remember when then PM Big Steve Harper used to remind the world on a regular basis that “Canadians are not the sort to cut and run” from war? That was after our top army boss had boasted about how we were going to run the Taliban, those murdering scumbags, out of Afghanistan.
Canada cut and ran, and the murdering scumbags now run the place. I’m sure the rest of the world, to say nothing of the Afghans, remember the value of our promises.
It's not just Canada. Bloomberg has a story up about the behind-the-scenes bickering in the EU. If Putin can drag this war out another six months, both EU and NATO will be riven with discord.
That's good news for Putin.
Not so good for the imbeciles in Washington who still believe that God's master plan requires them to be masters of the planet.
Full scale dominance, here we come!
Maybe it's time for a reality check.

Harper announces that he will soon announce improvements to Syrian refugee plan that has been announced innumerable times already
It's the classic Harper strategy; bury the 'tards in a blizzard of announcements and hope they don't notice that you're not actually doing anything.
Our shipbuilding programs are a prime example. Big Steve has announced various iterations of our shipbuilding program for at least ten years, each accompanied by much theatrical posing and fanfare. Have any ships been built?
The Harper gang doesn't have a shipbuilding program. They have a shipbuilding announcement program.
Likewise with our program to assist Syrian refugees. We're gonna take in thousands. Months later, another announcement; we're gonna take in thousands; a few weeks later; we're gonna take in ten thousand more Syrian refugees. Over three years. After they've cleared security background investigations. Maybe...
Then the infamous Aylan Kurdi photo goes viral.
Harper announces that we are committed to what he's been repeatedly announcing. Unfortunately, those comprehensive background checks pretty much disqualify Syrians.
But don't worry; yesterday Harper announced that there'll be an announcement coming soon about speeding up the processing of would-be Syrian refugees.
I'm sure that news is music to the ears of the millions of Syrians caught between Assad's anvil and the Islamic State hammer.

Canada's political elite prostrate themselves before U-2 frontman Bono
Well, this is embarrassing!
Bono is gonna take time out from his current tour to hold audiences with Big Steve, Mr. Mulcair, and that youngster with the fancy hair.
I can kinda see where Bono is on the same page as Big Steve. After all, Big Steve's initiatives to save all the women and girls in the less-fortunate world rely on pretty much the same corporate sponsors who sponsor Bono's career.
By meeting Bono, Trudeau and Mulcair are signalling that they're part of the same club.
Bad move, boys.
Progressives of all stripes are long over corporate stooge Bono. Too bad you missed the memo.
