Guy with pee-pee troubles knocks Ukraine out of top slot on CBC News
Had to scroll past over a dozen stories on the CBC News home page before reading the word “Ukraine” this morning. That included four stories on Indigenous meetings with the Pope, $10/day daycare, the Taliban, Will Smith’s assault on Chris Rock, Dune, Canadian soccer, Prairie droughts, and the sad story of a poor schmuck who can’t afford the medical supplies he needs to urinate properly.
Only then is there any mention of Ukraine!
At least for once I can’t accuse the CBC of blindly following the MSM herd; BBC, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox all continue to lead with the Ukraine story. Not sure if this puts CBC ahead of the curve or behind it, but it’s a pleasant surprise for anyone suffering Zelensky fatigue.
Speaking of which, here’s an informative backgrounder to the Zelensky PR campaign. It’s certainly been effective, but perhaps a little too over-the-top for its own good. How many times do we need to watch Zelensky beg and browbeat his NATO betters for “support” when NATO has clearly demonstrated there is no stomach for such a step within the alliance?
I would suggest that’s not about “stomach” or any highfalutin concerns about setting precedents. After all, NATO has long set precedents in coming to the aid of non-member states by “closing the skies” over Serbia, Libya, and Afghanistan. The reason there’s no relief for Ukraine is that the serious people at the Pentagon have zero confidence in their capacity to do so. Far better not to make that any more obvious than it already is.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera featured a ten minute interview with Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani this morning, wherein she lobbied hard for NATO membership for her country. According to her, NATO membership for Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia “brought stability to the region.”
It did?
For God’s sake, Madame President, look around you!

CBC News explains why they're going down the toilet
We are 15 months into the cultural and social revolution sparked by the murder of George Floyd.
Here is CBC News Editor-in-chief Brodie Fenlon 'splainin' their relentless pursuit of irrelevance; How CBC is diving deeper when it comes to newsroom diversity.
It appears Brodie still has a ways to go on his path to enlightenment, as that "Editor-in-CHIEF" business is highly problematic in some circles.
Odd that a pot-addled bumpkin would catch that... maybe CBC should hire me as a Wokeness Coach!
Then again, white folks in positions of influence and privilege generally make fools of themselves when bemoaning "lack of diversity."
One of the startling facts revealed in Brodie's article is that 64% of Indigenous guests on CBC talk about being Indigenous.
Of course they do! That's why the CBC has them on. It's called "pandering," Brodie. Look it up before you dive any deeper!
Speaking of pandering, one of the few manifestations of the "cultural and social revolution," other than know-nothing millennials vandalizing statues, is the CBC's "Being Black in Canada" feature.
I had no idea there were so many lonely Black trans kids in small prairie towns. Imagine the scarce resources CBC invested in ferreting out that scoop.
On the other hand, in their zeal to impress their audience with their commitment to diversity, the CBC brainiacs sometimes neglect to mention race at all.
Take, for example, this story about the leader of the Proud Boys white supremacist terror group, Enrique Tarrio, going to jail for burning a Black Lives Matter banner.
Not a hint in the story that Enrique Tarrio is a Black dude!

Victimology 101 at Dalhousie
Dentists have incomes and suicide rates that are both well above average. What does that tell you?
So while I'm beyond thrilled and delighted with my own dentist these past four or five years, Doctor Bob, I'd hazard a guess that folks who heed the call of dentistry are not necessarily the most well-adjusted people on the planet.
I wonder about proctologists too. Same deal; they're just at the other end of the pipeline.
But this flap at Dalhousie University is another matter entirely.
In a nutshell, this is about a bunch of not-too-mature young males impressing one another with their lurid fantasies about what they'd like to do with/to their female colleagues. They're dentistry students. Their fantasy life is their sex life.
They may be pathetic wankers today, but someday they might grow up into responsible Mercedes-driving professionals who raise solid middle-class kids and pay their taxes.
In the meantime, they are indulging in some immature sexist banter of the sort that immature males have exchanged in locker rooms throughout the world since the beginning of time.
"Ya, I'd like to give Mabel a double dose of chloroform and bone her up the ...."
At which point one of the speaker's mates would most probably chime in, " ya, good luck Bernie, it's gonna take at least a triple dose before somebody as ugly as you bones anybody anywhere..."
That used to be considered locker room banter.
The Dalhousie dolts, being perhaps not the sharpest tools in the Dalhousie Dental School tool-kit, had the poor judgement to put their locker room banter on Facebook!
Bad call...
The CBC News is now treating its listeners to frequent interviews with "victims" who claim they no longer feel safe at Dalhousie or in dentists' offices...
They want the naughty would-be dentists expelled from the university and expunged from their chosen profession.
I think that's a bit over the top.

Canada pits rail workers against farmers to hide real reason bumper grain crop not making it to ports
And the Harper gang has wasted no time threatening the workers with back-to-work legislation even before they're off the job. Here's how CBC News spins the story;
They quote Labour Minister Kellie Leitch's grave concerns for the "impact a CN Rail strike will have on hard working Canadian farmers."
"Our economy must be protected, our products must reach market."
They throw in Conservative Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall's concerns that farmers can't get their grain to market now, let alone after a strike is called.
Those greedy union thugs are threatening to cripple the Canadian economy!
OH MY GOD!!!
Please Mr. Harper, PLEASE step in and save those prairie farmers!
But wait a minute... didn't Mr. Wall just say those prairie farmers can't get their grain to market even before a rail strike?
What gives?
Here's what gives; around all the ass-kissing pseudo-journalism that surrounded the release of CP Rail's record-setting Q4 results barely a week ago, you might have missed this gem; since Hunter Harrison took over he has "pulled 400 locomotives and 11,000 rail cars off the tracks."
Hmm... you don't think that pulling 11,000 rail cars off the tracks might have something to do with prairie farmers not being able to get their crops to market, do you?
And obviously, nobody is parking any of those unsafe code DOT 111 tank wagons off the tracks, because crude-by-rail traffic is skyrocketing.
So Canada's rail duopoly is letting grain rot on prairie sidings so they can chase the more lucrative and far more dangerous crude oil traffic, and when the railworkers announce a job action the Harper gang threatens back to work legislation because a strike would hurt prairie farmers?!
Bizarre, abusive, and profoundly dishonest. That's the way our rail conglomerates and their pals in government roll.
