Uncle Sam takes Europe down the garden path

If you heard the words of that tedious mediocrity Borrell recently, you'll appreciate the garden reference. I’m aware my take on the Ukraine war doesn’t follow the mainstream template. Putin desperate to reconstitute a Russian empire? Nah… far more likely; a desperate American empire hoping against all evidence to maintain the status quo. The usual mainstream experts, every one of whom has a vested interest in promoting a particular narrative, have been telling us since February Ukraine is winning the war. The reason they keep telling us that is because America’s rep is on the line here. The entire point of Uncle Sam’s Ukrainian adventure, aside from further enriching the usual suspects, is to demonstrate to the world that the World Boss is still the world boss. That’s been a hard sell ever since the Greatest Military of All Time folded the tent in Afghanistan. Having lost a twenty year battle with semi-literate religious fanatics, Uncle Sam decided to reclaim his mojo by taking on Russia and China. After all, those are autocratic bad-guy states, and America leads the democratic and free world, and therefore we must ensure freedom, democracy, human rights, and US hegemony prevail. This battle for the preservation of America’s global leadership is playing out far away from America’s borders. It’s playing out in Europe. How and why European elites have bought into this scenario is another matter, but this is where we’re at. When Europe realizes the price they’re paying in the battle to preserve American exceptionalism, there may be some hard feelings. No where more than in Ukraine. No less an authority than Henry Kissinger once opined that to be America’s adversary is dangerous, but being America’s friend is deadly.

A really big shoe

Remember when Ed Sullivan always had "a really big show," but it sounded like he said "shoe" instead of "show?"

These days, the really big shoe is of course Impeachment Palooza. Seems to me this is brought to you by the same folks who have been renovating the historical record on American war crimes and war criminals. Henry "peace is at hand" Kissinger is a cuddly elder statesman now, still wanted as a war criminal in many jurisdictions, but that's just the result of Putinist propaganda.

America's decade and a half unprovoked brutalisation of Viet Nam was just some well-meaning folks whose good intentions were undermined by the commies in Russia and China.

Ditto the destruction of Iraq, Libya, Somalia, and various others. There's always some foreign ne're-do-wells messing up Uncle Sam's good intentions. And thank God the truth-seekers have been setting the record straight on the altruists at the CIA and the FBI, who have for years been stymied by a pinko press corps riddled with commie infiltrators.

Impeachment Palooza reveals that, at least before the racist misogynist xenophobic narcissistic retard Trump stole the Oval Office from Hillary, America NEVER asked for anything in return when doling out foreign aid or Javelin anti-tank missiles...


So make sure you watch the show! If nothing else, it'll take your mind off the tawdry goings on elsewhere in the world.

Like the US sponsored coup that just went down in Bolivia.

Like the US led sanctions that are designed to starve the children of Iran until the Ayatollahs cry "Uncle Sam."

Like the new US military bases sprouting up in the Syrian oilfields a month after American troops supposedly left the country they were illegally occupying.

Like America's trillion dollar commitment to freshening up its nuclear arsenal.

I could go on, but you probably get the drift...

In some bizarre way I kinda admire the old war criminal.

It's about longevity, not politics.

He's been a happening dude on the world stage since what, the Nixon era?

I've read he's feeding strategic advice to Trump.

He's gotta be at least 100 years old.

I guess killer instincts don't have a stale-date.

And if nothing else, Kissinger was blessed with an abundance of killer instincts.

Erdogan's double game; feeding both sides in the Kobani slaughter

The wily Turkish PM-cum-President is proving himself the craftiest practitioner of realpolitik since Henry Kissinger!

Seems that Turkey is provisioning both sides in the Kurd-ISIS conflagration playing itself out in the Syrian city of Kobani. Turkey just recently relented to pressure from her NATO betters to allow Kurdish fighters across the border.

At the same time, here's a Kurdish leader claiming that Turkey is also facilitating the movement of Islamic State fighters across that same border!

I think that PYD leader pretty much nails it when he talks about Turkey fomenting a war of attrition. Maybe he's been reading this blog?

And while you never want to make too much of anything you find in the Daily Mail, it is beyond curious that a (American, by the way) reporter would go to her reward under mysterious circumstances right after reporting that Turkey is indeed playing a double game.
