Trudeau: "a truly repugnant level of moral cowardice"

That's according to Robyn Urback in a Globe op-ed today. Robyn has her knickers in a twist because of Fluffy's sit-on-the-fence attitude about the Gaza genocide-in-progress. She claims Dear Leader's refusal to unambiguously come down on one side or the other leaves him alienating both sides. Both Muslims and Jews are allowed to vote in Canada, and therefore Fluffy doesn't want to lose votes on one side by speaking out for the other. While I agree with Urbacks evaluation of Justin's moral standards, the moral cowardice goes far beyond the PMO and the war on Gaza. Laurentian Consensus types, still more or less our "ruling class," are American Empire Loyalists one and all. Their policies are not evaluated on any criteria other than; will Uncle Sam give us a pat on the head? Lloyd Axworthy, godfather of the "responsibiity to protect" doctrine, is silent on who's responsible for protecting the children of Gaza. He's opined often about Russia's genocidal war on Ukraine, which has taken the lives of an estimated 600 children in two years. The genocidal war on Gaza has taken the lives of 12,000 children in four months. Not a peep out of Lloyd. That's moral cowardice. Yesterday our PM stated that waving a Palestinian flag in downtown Toronto is "antisemitism." He has yet to speak out against the bombing of hospitals in Gaza. That's not the sort of "pricipled stand" that would get him a pat on the back in DC. And Robyn Urback, in her op-ed, clearly wants PM Fluffy to get off the fence and become a cheerleader for genocide. That too is morally repugnant.

High hopes and wishful thinking

The not-so-dynamic duo of Allan Rock and Lloyd Axworthy graced us with an op-ed in the Globe today, all about how we need to bring NATO to the Arctic to make the Rooskies back off. It's OUR Arctic, after all. In what was essentially a pro-NATO anti-Russia screed, Roxworthy claimed the Ukraine war proved the importance of NATO. Really? Looks to me a lot more like it has proved the impotence, incompetence, and irrelevance of NATO. NATO's war on Russia isn't going very well, in case you haven't noticed. For a year and a half we've been told our erstwhile flunkies in Ukraine need just a few more months and a few more billions worth of weapons, and the forces of freedom and human rights will prevail. We're at 18 months and about $150 billions by now, and by all accounts things seem to be trending in the wrong direction for the Nations of Virtue, the forces of freedom and democracy, etc. But not to worry... a few more years and a few more trillions should make things right...

Zelensky, Nazis, Chrystia Freeland, and our "free press"

Yves Engler is a Canadian journalist who you'll never read in the mainstream for the same reason you'll never read me there; he's about more than regurgitating the official establishment narrative.

This story caught my eye this morning. It's now official; Chrystia and Justin have been up Trump's ass from the get-go. That's something I've been saying from the get-go. They work really hard to convince the public otherwise, but the facts are the facts; the constant Russia-baiting, the support for fascist elements in Ukraine, the me-too toadying every time Trump issues another round of sanctions against some country that is reluctant to play lap-dog to Empire, the "leadership" role in America's regime change obsession with Venezuela...

Lloyd Axworthy is one of those establishment ciphers who is shuffled into a fresh sinecure whenever he gets bored with the last one. He's a regular election-observer in Ukraine, leading a Canadian delegation to make sure everything is on the up and up and Putin isn't doing any hanky-panky with Ukraine's democracy. (US hanky-panky, on the other hand, as revealed in the infamous Nuland-Pyatt tape, is never a problem!)

Lloyd reported that the recent Zelensky election appeared to meet Canadian standards, but he expressed surprise that the extreme right Canada has coddled didn't win any seats, whereas a number of Russia-friendly parties did very well!

Well, Lloyd, no need to scratch your head over that! Here's another article from someone you won't find in the pages of the Globe and Mail;  Zelensky's dilemma. That writer and that article strike me as vastly better-informed than anything I've ever read on the subject in our "free press."

Which I suppose is the reason our leaders are so keen on silencing alternative media.

Canada and Neo-Nazis

The Trudeau government yesterday welcomed the news that extreme-right personality Faith Goldy had been voted off Facebook Island. That's to be expected. After all, it would be hard to find a crew more outspoken in their anti-fascist virtue signalling than Justin's social justice warriors.

Meanwhile, the decision to extend Canada's military mission to Ukraine passed virtually unnoticed when it was announced last month. We're all-in to help the plucky Ukrainians ward off Putin's aggression, after all.

Whenever the fascist tendencies in Ukrainian politics become a topic of conversation, our media are quick to offer scathing denials from folks like Paul Grod and Lloyd Axworthy. Lies, slander, and Putinist propaganda; not a word of truth to it, they claim.

That's usually enough to stop the conversation in its tracks.

Yet the story never completely goes away. Here's an article from The Nation, which as far as I know is not one of Putin's disinformation outlets; Neo-Nazis and far right on the march in Ukraine. The writer obviously forgot to fact-check with Lloyd and Paul.

Here's a news story from Germany a couple of years back; The Brotherhood of Racists and Anti-Semites. According to the story, Ukraine is the go-to destination for young white-power aficionados across Europe hoping to get training and inspiration.

Our government spends our tax dollars training the Ukrainian military. Elements in the Ukrainian military then pass along that military training to violent extremists drawn to Ukraine from across Europe.

What they'll do with that training remains to be seen...

Your tax dollars at work!

Canada to lead Nations of Virtue in seizing assets of despots and dictators

Perennial do-gooder Lloyd Axworthy has come up with a great idea; lets help ourselves to the frozen bank accounts of dictators and despots and use the money to address the global refugee crisis! Lloyd figures we should be able to raise ten to twenty billion a year from the bad guys on our shit list.

Whose bank accounts we seize is of course a question of politics rather than morality. You'll notice that it tends to be leaders Washington doesn't like who have their assets seized. Maduro and Putin are despots, but MBS and Erdogan get a pass.

As for the refugees themselves, what are they fleeing? In the great European refugee crisis of 2015-16, 75% of the arrivals came from only three countries; Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. What do those countries have in common? They've all been targeted for regime change by those same Nations of Virtue now wringing their hands over the refugee crisis, Canada included. How ironic to read such nonsense on the very day that we're remembering those 158 Canadians who gave their lives in the noble mission to bring freedom and democracy to Afghanistan.

This is not a fact that the Axworthys of the world address or even acknowledge. So long as disinterested experts like Ahmed Chalabi or Bill Browder can be trotted out to spin scary stories, that's good enough for Lloyd.

Here's an alternative funding source for staunching the refugee crisis; a modest tax on international weapons sales. Since eight out of ten of the top weapons purveyors are in the Nations of Virtue club, reaching a consensus on such a tax would be a snap!

Refugee crisis solved!

Even better, although "thought leaders" like Axworthy can't seem to get their heads around the concept, we in the virtuous West could end most refugee crises simply by minding our own business and giving up the idea that it's our right to meddle in other countries.
