Step One: Jagmeet's had a year and a half to create some buzz around the party he took over from Angry Tom. Nothing has happened. Clearly the party needs fresh leadership, a fact that will become even more clear if he fails to win Burnaby South.
Step Two: Draft the most popular politician in Canada, former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould, to be the next NDP leader.
Step Three: Elect Jody as PM in October. The vast majority of the populace is beyond fed-up with Justin's over-the-top virtue signalling and the content-free grandstanding of his faux feminist rhetoric. Yes Justin, we need more feminist bitumen pipelines to meet our climate change obligations... now please go away, and take that photo-op junkie Freeland with you!

Old boys club circles the wagons to keep new girl out of the election debate
I've been watching the Canadian election debate, brought to me by the national newspaper of record.
Absent from the debate is the leader of the Green Party. She won the last debate, which is why the old boys club made sure that she was excluded from this one.

Canada's pretend socialists try for free ride on "$15 is FAIR" coattails
The Canadian political party formerly known as socialist has decreed that $15 is indeed fair; a fair minimum wage for Canadian workers... IN 2019!
How this bit of shabby headline-mongering succeeded is beyond me. NDP leader Mulcair got headlines all across the Great White North on his call for a $15/hr minimum wage. In every case you don't get the 2019 part until you read the actual story.
Nor is Mulcair making a principled statement about the need for a decent minimum wage for ALL Canadians, right now; he's limiting his "demands" to that small minority of Canadian workers who are covered by federal instead of provincial minimum wage legislation.
In other words, these headlines are the result of a calculated attempt to steal a bit of the spotlight from the "$15 is Fair" campaign.
The NDP under Mulcair's leadership has been steadily losing the credibility it had under the late Jack Layton. Mulcair's gutless refusal to say anything other than parrot Harper talking points during the recent Israeli war on Gaza, for the ludicrous reason that his wife's family is Jewish, alienated a lot of traditional NDP types who expect the Party offer something different from the one-sided support for Israeli militarism that we typically get from the Harper gang.
As for that $15/hr minimum wage, listen up, Tom; that's something that the working poor in Canada need today, not in 2019, and they need it across the land, not just in federally regulated industries.

Have you noticed that whenever the Senate Scandal gets a little too close to Harper, "new" Rob Ford allegations blow it off the front page?
Coincidence?
Take today for example. The Conservatives used their Senate majority to squelch the appearance of the senior Deloitte director who was stage-managing the Duffy audit. That's an egregious bit of self-serving senate manipulation that should outrage the public and the media watch-dogs.
Nor only that, but also today Tom Mulcair was hitting rather close to home with his pointed questions about why a couple of New Brunswick senators, who appear to have been playing the same fast-and-loose game with their expenses as Duffy, remain in the senate.
All in all, a day of serious questions, serious enough that they would have led the evening news at CBCCTVGLOBAL....
But then, late in the afternoon, HOLY MOTHER OF BATMAN IF IT ISN'T A WHOLE NEW SORDID BATCH OF ROB FORD REVELATIONS!!!
Yup, that cleared the boring old senate scandal off the news agenda for the rest of this week!
And Ford doesn't mind. He's become bigger than Toronto. In fact my pal AC is talking him up on CNN even as I write these words. Did you see how they loved him at the Bills game on the weekend?
If Hunter S. Thompson had any idea the Ford story was coming down the pike he woulda stuck around just to see it for himself.
