World's top liars go mano a mano

You know who I’m talking about. Back in the day there were rumors about a top-shelf medical clinic in Switzerland, where the world’s A-listers got their pharmaceutical heroin. It’s where Keef Richards went for a whole-body transfusion every six months for fifty years. What wasn’t well known at the time was the same clinic also offered nose-reduction surgery. It was colloquially known as the “Pinocchio Clinic.” Those Swiss geniuses branched into nose reductions back in the Nixon era. Insiders have revealed the PC is by far the most profitable venture they’ve ever had. It is highly popular amongst politicians of the EU and NATO countries. Ursula Von der Lugen has allegedly had her ever-lying snoz cut back an astonishing 35 times! But that’s nothing. According to those unnamed insiders, Trump holds the record at 214, but that’s not a secure lead. His “good friend” Bibi is breathing down his neck at 213! At this very moment in history, two of the greatest con-men of all time are going head to head, mano a mano, trying to out-bullshit one another. There’s a lot at stake. The lives of whoever is left of the two million Palestinians who once called Gaza home, for one thing. The survival of Israel as a supposed “liberal democracy” for another. It pains me to say it, but were I a betting man, I’d wager on Bibi. It’s not that he’s a better liar per se; he’s just got way more experience in the truly momentous whoppers that justify his ongoing genocide. Trump has been known to call off strikes on terror targets because somebody might get hurt. What good are lying skills if you whimp out when it matters? The Greatest Leader since Moses, on the other hand, has no qualms about raining US bombs on unarmed civilians cowering in tents. It’s a tough world. The future belongs to those who can take tough decisions and never look back. But don’t count Trump out. I mean, anybody who follows these matters knows the whole “we obliterated Iran’s nuclear program” shtick was… bullshit, and nobody knows it better than Bibi. Unfortunately, he also knows that Iran made an absolute mockery of Israel-USA air defences in the Twelve Day War. Another twelve days and Israel would be over. Not only that, but Trump is beginning to realize his support of Israel is starting to bleed away his base. Even the hard-core Israel-firsters come to a point where they can no longer deny that Israel’s genocide is exactly that. Not even the so-called Christian Zionists want to wear that badge.

Israel: 7 days from euphoria to humiliation

I’ve been a keen follower of the adventures of the Israeli Defense Forces since the Six Day War. I have never seen Israel jump at a ceasefire proposal with the unseemly haste demonstrated this past week. Something doesn’t add up. Just days ago Israel and its main water-boy Uncle Sam were bragging up their “total control” of Iranian airspace. The prevailing view in our pro-Israel commentariat (i.e. all mainstream media) was that, while we naturally abhor unprovoked wars of aggression, in this case the Israelis are doing the world a favour! It must be plainly obvious by now, that after 20 months, the war on Gaza is a failure. That’s about 18 months longer than all other wars in the history of Israel combined. It’s also obvious that “total control of the skies” was mostly imaginary. The Iron Dome fraud has been irrevocably exposed as… well, a fraud. When the enemies of Israel can deliver ballistic missiles, seemingly at will, to every city in the land, it’s time to stop bragging about your superiority and start looking for a “Plan B.”

Never again? There’s been a genocide ongoing in Gaza for well over a year. Recall this; In historical first, Israel announces its genocide in advance. Bibi didn’t let me down. They’ve carried out their promised genocide with shocking enthusiasm. There is no hospital or school or mosque or church or “safe zone” that is immune to Israel’s US-supplied F-35s dropping US-supplied bombs. That’s because every single hospital or school or mosque or church is actually built atop a terrorist command post! How convenient! Don’t blame Israel for starving those starving children in Gaza. Israel keeps trying to send oodles of food aid to the starving Palestinians, but those diabolical terrorists keep stealing it… And of course, anyone who dares question that narrative is an antisemite! That accusation is enough to silence criticism in most of the “Western world,” ie the world that, obfuscations and bullshit aside, is enabling this 21st century genocide. It was most gratifying to me to see Jewish anti-genocide activists occupy some real estate in Ottawa for a few hours the other day. Unfortunately, few news outlets bothered to mention these were Jews against Israel’s genocide. Anti-genocide protesters are typically portrayed as “Hamas fans,” antisemites, or just confused millennials. It’s beyond time to hold our media and our politicians to account. There is a genocide going on in front of our eyes. What will we do about it?

Canada "investigating possibility" of aid airdrop to starving Gaza

That’s supposed to be a good news story at CBC. It is intended to reassure readers that Canada is not ignoring the humanitarian catastrophe that has been unfolding in Gaza for almost five months. Alas, we Canadians know there is a vast gulf between our government “investigating possibilities” and actually doing something. After investigating possibilities (2-3 months), a committee will be struck to commence a feasibility study (6-12 months). Then another committee of experts will convene to determine the most viable option(s). No doubt this will require hearings (another 3-6 months,) but before that there will be several months of discussions over whether the hearings should be in camera or public. Following the hearings, our preferred course of action must be sent to parliament for approval. That could easily take another month or more, depending on what other urgent matters are before parliament at that time. Finally, when we get all our humanitarian ducks in a row, possibly in two years time, comes the tough part; getting Israel’s permission to feed the people they are deliberately starving. It’s safe to say anyone in Gaza waiting for Canada’s help will be long dead before it arrives.

Trudeau: "a truly repugnant level of moral cowardice"

That's according to Robyn Urback in a Globe op-ed today. Robyn has her knickers in a twist because of Fluffy's sit-on-the-fence attitude about the Gaza genocide-in-progress. She claims Dear Leader's refusal to unambiguously come down on one side or the other leaves him alienating both sides. Both Muslims and Jews are allowed to vote in Canada, and therefore Fluffy doesn't want to lose votes on one side by speaking out for the other. While I agree with Urbacks evaluation of Justin's moral standards, the moral cowardice goes far beyond the PMO and the war on Gaza. Laurentian Consensus types, still more or less our "ruling class," are American Empire Loyalists one and all. Their policies are not evaluated on any criteria other than; will Uncle Sam give us a pat on the head? Lloyd Axworthy, godfather of the "responsibiity to protect" doctrine, is silent on who's responsible for protecting the children of Gaza. He's opined often about Russia's genocidal war on Ukraine, which has taken the lives of an estimated 600 children in two years. The genocidal war on Gaza has taken the lives of 12,000 children in four months. Not a peep out of Lloyd. That's moral cowardice. Yesterday our PM stated that waving a Palestinian flag in downtown Toronto is "antisemitism." He has yet to speak out against the bombing of hospitals in Gaza. That's not the sort of "pricipled stand" that would get him a pat on the back in DC. And Robyn Urback, in her op-ed, clearly wants PM Fluffy to get off the fence and become a cheerleader for genocide. That too is morally repugnant.
