The Towelheads 'o Terror and how to stop them

The word is out that the USA has met its 2016 quota of admitting 10,000 Muslim refugees.

That's approximately 10,000 too many for a lot of folks, and you know, I can't say I blame them for feeling that way.

All told, about 2.5 million Americans served in Iraq and Afghanistan. They know better than anyone what we did to those people. If you're one of the many who snapped souvenir pics of naked Iraqi men piled high in humiliation at Abu Ghraib, would you want to risk the possibility that one of the survivors is now a refugee and has moved in down the block?

I didn't think so.

And isn't it inevitable, especially in an Arab culture that's at least as eye-for-eye as the Hatfields and the McCoys,  that some poor refugee from Falluja, who lost his family to an American drone strike or an American Hellfire missile or just the random target shooting of some random American "contractor," might want to settle the score once he washes up in America with refugee status?

Well, they're all around you now...

But there is good news!

Here's how to get those people to stop hating our freedoms; stop bombing them and invading them and killing their kids and overthrowing their leaders and stealing their resources.

That should do it!

Salad days for the warmongers

It's thumbs up and high fives all round as the big boys celebrate the state of weapon sales and current events.

Seldom has cynical warmongering achieved the momentum that we are witnessing today.

Commentators galore are castigating the Obama regime for "not doing enough" to help out the moderate Syrian rebels... to the point where Obama recently promised 500 millions in military aid to those imaginary "moderates".

That's another way of saying we're going to spend another half billion on weapons purchased from our most favoured domestic weapon suppliers, and turn them over to imaginary moderates, who will promptly turn them over to the very Jihadists we are supposedly fighting.

And that terrible awful Jihadi gang that we trained and financed and that then became the Islamic State, well, they're so evil now that we have to send the pretend government of Iraq, who we have also trained and financed, 4000 Hellfire missiles, which is of course a lovely cash injection for the Lockheed Martin war-profiteers, who are currently hemmoraging red ink over their signature war toy, the F-35.

Obviously, arming all sides in a conflagration we stirred up to begin with is a bonanza for arms suppliers. That's what happens when your foreign policy is dictated by Big Oil and the armaments industry.

Then we've got the Ukrainian mess. Luckily, that's turned into a shooting war, which can only help our beleaguered arms industry.

And let's not forget the most cynical warmongers of all, our Likud friends in Israel. Turns out the Netanyahu government knew all along that those three teen settlers were dead. They mounted that "bring back our boys" campaign knowing full well that those boys weren't coming back. But it was a great gambit for whipping up hate and fear, and by God, that can only be good for selling guns and bullets.

These are indeed the best of times for those who profit from the worst of times.

Killing Ahmed

In 2004 the IDF killed Ahmed Yassin with a Hellfire missile strike that also killed a number of bystanders. Yassin was an octogenarian in a wheelchair. While the civilized world would generally look askance at firing a Hellfire at an old guy in a wheelchair, the IDF was given a pass because Yassin was a senior Hamas boffin.

The IDF remained the most moral army in the world.

Eight years later, Ahmed Jabari was one of the first casualties of  the 2012 attack on Gaza. Jabari was a senior Hamas figure. He died on a Wednesday. Until the preceding Tuesday, he had been involved in "peace" talks with Israel. While the civilized world would generally look askance at murdering one's peace partners, the IDF was given a pass because Jabari was a senior Hamas boffin.

The IDF remained the most moral army in the world.

In between those two murders was Operation Cast Lead. The debut operation of Cast Lead was to attack a graduation ceremony of Gaza traffic cops. Gaza traffic cops are trained to manage traffic in Gaza, and God knows they need more of those. Gaza traffic cops do not launch missiles into Israel. Traffic cops are in no way a legitimate military target. The IDF was given a pass because Gaza traffic cops are issued sidearms, and they are Palestinians, so obviously they are legitimate targets.

The IDF remained the most moral army in the world.

How far will we stretch the concept of "morality" before we admit that there are no moral armies anywhere in the world?

Seeing the outlines of the next American Revolution

On the front pages we are accustomed to seeing the spectacle of top US politicos debating the merits of torture.

Or the merits of annihilating "enemies", American and otherwise, uncharged, untried, with a Hellfire missile fired by remote control from the other side of the world.

The global architects of death and destruction now share the front page with Chris Dorner.  Dorner is the former LA cop who has declared a one man war on the LAPD.

This is playing out in the media as just the latest "crazy guy with a gun" story.

It's much more than that, although it's not up to me to determine his level of craziness.

He's got a manifesto out there. It's worth a look.

If the barrios and the ghettos don't rise up to support him this time around, eventually they will rise up and support the next Chris Dorner, or the one after that.

But eventually they will rise up. Against the LAPD and against the entire infrastructure of exploitation and oppression that has kept the poor poor and the rich getting richer.
