Justin (almost) pulls a fast one

That gosh-darned PM Fluffy got some chutzpah, he do!

According to him, no-one in his entire government could think of a single entity in all of Canada qualified to deliver almost a billion dollars in student volunteer grants other than Justin's pals, the Kielburger boys, and their Free-the-Children/Me to We/WE "charity" empire.

Needless to say, plenty of Canadians outside of Trudeau's government didn't have any problem coming up with alternatives. By Thursday, the CBC and others were starting to take a closer look at not just this no-bid contract, but at goings on at the WE empire in general. Apparently that prospect was enough for the Kielburgers to quickly pull the plug on the project, and by this morning Trudeau announced they'd come up with some fresh ideas and the WE boys wouldn't be involved after all.

In spite of Trudeau's quick climb-down, he has inadvertently provided another insight into the tawdry standards of transparency, integrity, and accountability that prevail in Ottawa.
