Quatsch mit Sosse

When I was a wee lad, if my dear mother suspected that I was being less than forthright about something or other, she would accuse me of peddling "Quatsch." If she found my dissembling  especially  egregious, she upped the ante to "Quatsch mit Sosse," which, roughly translated, means bullshit with gravy.

I was reminded of this by the CBC's most recent bullshit story about the travails of artist, activist, and intrepid Putin foe, Pete from Mississauga. Pete's been on the fringes of fame for about ten years now as a hanger-on of the so-called Pussy Riot activist collective. These would-be revolutionaries, generously funded from the Nations of Virtue, spend their time and their sponsors' money dreaming up anti-Putin publicity stunts, like performing sex acts in public... because that will bring down The Borg, won't it!?

When CBC visited Pete's funky apartment in a "fashionable Moscow neighbourhood," they must have thought he pays the rent with the residuals rolling in from the Pussy Riot back catalogue. The irony of covering "activists" in Russia whose entire claim to fame is speaking out about the inability of Russians to speak out, is entirely lost on the Western media who breathlessly promote this nonsense.

Quatsch mit Sosse indeed!
