The reason I was visiting Turkey's leading English language news site is to see what kind of space they give over to the fact that their ruthless leader is slaughtering his own people. Not much, as it turns out, and when they do, it tends to be framed as a war on terrorists.
Sure! That's what they all say!
Erdogan needs to tread very carefully. At the moment he is a much-favored lap-dog of the Nations of Virtue because he is facilitating the dirty work in Syria.
Interestingly, it's a big story in Turkey but pretty much invisible here that the trial of the 40 senior military officers charged with plotting against Erdogan is plodding along, and the big news today was that all 40 had now been officially "retired" from the officer corps.
But that is a story for another time. I wanted to know how they report their war on their Kurdish population, but from what I can tell they are more interested in sex.
At least that never killed anybody!
