In a radical departure from standard procedure over the past half century, the governments of France and Britain seem on the verge of letting the settler-lobby in Israel know that enough is enough.
"Settler-lobby" is of course synonymous with Likud, and Netanyahu's announcement of 3,000 new settler abodes in East Jerusalem the day after the historic UN vote was apparently a bridge too far for them.
The churlish announcement today that Israel will withhold tax revenue from the PA is just, well, really childish and really stupid, and will just further isolate Israel.
And as welcome as the Haaretz headline is, it really doesn't mean a thing so long as the US is prepared to continue its blank check/no-questions-asked approach.
Given the immediate condemnation of the housing announcement by the Obama administration, maybe Bibi shouldn't be counting on that.
But at least he still has Canada in his corner!
