Without discounting the sincerity of their love for Syria, it is obvious that the gang of four who now lead the official Syrian opposition after this week's Doha summit have one other thing in common.
None of them are on the ground in Syria leading the fight against Assad.
And as al Jazeera reports, the lobbying has already begun to have this puppet group recognized as the only legitimate representative of the Syrian people.
It's quite a coalition leadership Hillary's minions have assembled.
A feminist, a commie, a businessman, and an appropriately "moderate" imam. That's clearly an assemblage designed to appeal to the Western public. Hell, they got everybody on board except the proverbial one-legged black lesbian!
Unfortunately, matters on the ground in Syria are way past a point where this bit of theater is going to make any difference. The hardcore Islamists who are the driving force behind the revolution won't be taking orders from any of these folks or their coalition or their paymasters in Washington.
What this exercise does is attempt to legitimize a US-friendly counter revolution on the ground. This will emerge in the coming weeks and will be heavily supported in western media and the Nations of Virtue.
This will ensure a lengthy war of attrition between the al-Qaeda friendly Islamists who have carried the fight thus far, and Hillary's hand-picked Washington-approved Western-friendly Doha "rebels", a war that will continue long after Assad is gone.
