France restores past glory by snuffing two al Qaeda leaders in two days

Yup, things are going great for Hollande's crusade.

Mind you, it's not the French who have offed those al Qaeda bigwigs; it's the Chadians.

In fact, French forces are "unable to confirm" that Chad's military has offed anybody.

That Chad side-bar is an interesting development. Chad was not part of the original ECOWAS strategy to provide Hollande the Conqueror with a few black faces to spin the Mali adventure into an African story. But by golly, they've picked up the ball and are they ever running with it!

The French are still pissy over the lack of support for Hollande's African adventure. Support from their allies among the Nations of Virtue has been non-existent.

Well, that's not quite true; Canada did lend out a transport plane for a few weeks. That was big news in Canada. Lending out a transport plane moves the Canadians pretty close to "punching above our weight" after all. Here's what the Director of the French Centre for Intelligence Research had to say about that; "our Canadian friends say they are going to send one plane to help us, which is absolutely nothing."

Ouch!
