Bill Gates especially hates American workers.
Big Bill gets a lot of fluffy lovey-dovey press coverage because of all his wonderful lovey-dovey philanthropy all over the world. After all, Bill is the richest man in the world, and he's given virtually all his wealth to charity, has he not?
Yes, he has indeed! He's given virtually all his wealth to charitable foundations that he controls! But let's not hang him on that; after all, giving your wealth to charities you control is a popular tax dodge among the billionaire philanthropist crowd.
And dodging taxes is a big concern for Big Bill; here's a story from Business Insider about how crucial it is for Microsoft to avoid US taxes. After all, everybody does it! Microsoft wouldn't be competitive if they paid their fair share of US taxes while all of their competitors went merrily on using the 1001 tax dodges available to them!
Here's another revealing Bill Gates story from Business Insider. While the story is ostensibly about bots taking over menial and not-so-menial jobs, look at what the richest man in the world has to say about the minimum wage;
"When people say we should raise the minimum wage. I worry about what that does to job creation ... potentially damping demand in the part of the labor spectrum that I’m most worried about."
That's a howler, ain't it! The people Bill Gates is most concerned about are the people at or just below the bottom rung in the labour market. The richest man in the world wants to keep America's minimum wage below the poverty level, because that's what's best for the folks making minimum wage!
That is one thoughtful dude!
But Bill doesn't just talk the talk, his Microsoft walks the walk! Here's a story about the lengths Microsoft will go to in order to avoid hiring American workers. With the enthusiastic connivance of the Government of Canada, Microsoft has hatched a new strategy for spiriting foreign workers into the US!
And why does patriotic Bill want foreign workers when there is a vast pool of American IT grads flipping burgers and fixing your sub at Subway?
Because a P. Eng from India is more than happy to work for $20,000 a year, whereas for a P. Eng from an American university, that ain't gonna cover their student loan payments!
There you have it.
Richest man in the world.
Billionaire philanthropist.
Totally down for using every available strategy to avoid taxes and screw American workers.
What a great patriot!
