The Foolish Chicken restaurant in Ottawa has long been a favorite among Department of National Defense higher-ups. Drawn by the good food, cold beer, and complimentary helicopter parking, the DND types have made the Foolish Chicken one of the capital's most popular eateries.
Cashing in on the publicity that Defense Minister Peter "Pinocchio" MacKay has garnered for his illicit use of search and rescue helicopters, the Foolish Chicken has introduced a number of new menu items.
The Flying Chicken Sushi is tender shavings of raw chicken breast wrapped in marinated dulse. Only $349.
For $575 the Lying Chicken Attawapkish is deep fried chicken balls served on a bed of egg noodles with a dollop of sour cream on the side.
And for a mere $750 the Pinocchio Platter includes both of the above plus a side of the restaurant's famous whirlybird salad.
The restaurant continues its policy of offering a one percent discount to anyone with a DND expense account. "That policy's a winner" a restaurant spokesman said, "we're finding that practically all of our business is with people on DND credit cards."
