I remember reading a laudatory biography about Gerald Bull.
No matter his short-comings, Bull had one redeeming feature that will stay with me forever.
In the bleakest days of his doomed empire, Gerald Bull could walk through one of his munitions factories and greet every employee by name.
That should be the bare minimum that we, as a society, expect from a captain of industry.
When the CEO can't do that, the enterprise has gotten too big.
Scale is everything...
